Hydor Seltz L30 All Purpose Pump 23W 320 gph Review

(More customer reviews)The pump is advertised as working in and out of water. However its working out of water is a bit of a lie as it can't prime itself and can't pump any air. This means it only works out of water if it is located below the water levels that it is both pumping from and to, and even then you have to manually prime it. In most cased if you ever lose power you will have to re-prime it. So yes it technically works out of water, but not in the way an average person would expect a pump to work.
As for the pump itself, if mounted correctly it is very quiet and seems to work well. Since it is an induction motor pump it only has one moving part so I expect it to last for quite a while.
I find it hard to just give it a 1 star because they exaggerate that it is an external pump. Certainly for an external pump I would give it a 1, but for a submersion pump I would give it a 4. I suppose I should be lenient and give it a 3.

(More customer reviews)It is sometimes difficult to know what bulb you need for certain brands of fountain. There are different voltages, wattages and illuminated fields which are measured in degrees. This distributor is very clear about all fo these characteristics which can usually be found printed on the bulb, if they are not in the manual. In ordering bulbs, I would be careful to look at the actual bulb because some manufacturers use one manual for multiple products with different specifications. If you are ordering a fountain, I would also get replacement bulbs up front. For some reason, the brand new bulbs that come with my fountains burned out rather quickly. I think this may have to do with getting grease on them at some point in the packaging. It is very important NOT to handle the actual bulb itself when you are dealing with Halogen.

We have been using it for a few weeks and it seems to be functioning perfectly. Beware of the "assorted colors" in the description. We didn't see that when we placed our order and thought we'd be getting both dishes in blue, but we ended up getting a blue water dish and a brown food dish, so they look tacky beside each other and we've had to move them out of sight. Still, a great product for the price.

Beckett PPK42 42-Gallon Preformed Pond Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I just installed this pond and, at least so far, it works great. You dig a big hole (thats the hard part), put the pond in, level it, fill it with water and then put in the pump. Now you have a pond with a fountain. The only reason it isnt 5 star is that I dont yet know how long the submersible pump lasts and what do you do if it burns out. Its been in for a month running continuously with no problems so far. A minor quibble is that the people who are writing the instructions and descriptions are pretty good at conversational English, but they would do better to hire a professional native English-speaking instruction-writer. Assembling the fountain, for example, is incredibly simple - you just connect 4 pieces of plastic and there is really only 1 way they go together, but still, it would help to at least have pictures of how to do it and how to adjust the flow of the fountain. The top two pieces form a nozzle that can be pushed together to control the shape of the water coming out of the fountain, which combined with the flow-rate valve at the bottom of the stem together control the amount and shape of the water coming out of the fountain. Im very happy with it so far.

Its also relatively quiet with nothing more than a little hum coming from it. The splashing water (in a good trickle sort of way) is heard more loudly than this pump working.

I buy several bags at a time and store them in the freezer to keep them fresher. I did try sticks once instead of the pellets and the fish wouldn't eat the sticks. They love the pellets. I feed it from the time the water is between 42 degrees F. and 70 degrees F., then I gradually change them over to their summer food. I have koi, butterfly koi, shubunkins and comets.

Dark Copper Finish 13" Mini Moonshadow Fountain Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this 11/08 and immediately called the manufacturer Bluworld as I thought the product was copper and they said it was lightweight copper. The bowl is lightweight tin and the finish is already starting to bubble off. All they will do is replace pieces. They refuse a refund as well as Kinetic Fountains where I purchased it because the defects were found after 3o days.
I also has slime build up while using recommended products to prevent it.
Avoid at all costs!!!!
