(More customer reviews)I purchased this pump as a package deal with the 16 watt bio/uv fish mate filter. It's a great little pump and you can't beat the price. Pump does not come with a filter pad but you can pick one up at places like Lowes or Home Depot. The inlet reciever on the Fishmate filter is a little bit small if you're running a length(5 to 6 feet or more) on a pitch. You might encounter a flow problem.
I stepped the size of the inlet up by gluing a coupling onto it and chose a hose size that fit over the coupling. This fixed the flow problem I was having. I didn't have a problem with too much flow after I did this, it was perfect. If you're running a length that's less then 5 feet(pump to filter) on a pitch, I'd recommend using the standard inlet that's given.
There'a also a "flow valve" that's included with the pump for a waterfall flow adjustment you can modify to use if needed.

Pondmaster PMK1350 Pond Filter with 350-GPH Pump and Bonus Fountain Head Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these pumps and it workded perfectly...so much so that I recommended it to my friends and also bought 2 new pumps for my new pond. HOWEVER, there seems to be a manufacturing defect in the newer pumps because on both of my new pumps...the hose connecting the pump to the filter does not fit tightly...I connected one of the pumps in the morning and went to work and when I came home in the evening I noticed that the pump was very low...I decided to clean the filters...then I realised that the filter was no longer even connected to the pump...so I reconnected it and turned back on the pump but it still did not work any better...I then proceeded to take a better look and thats when I realised that because the hose had disconnected from the pump it was jus sucking water from the bottom of the pond and had sucked in one of my baby Kois and killed it.
I am not discouraging anyone from buying this pump but if you do make sure you put on a hose clamp or something to prevent it from killing your baby fishes.

Has a nice space in the bottom of the filter to put the bio balls for that added biological filter. So easy to remove, replace the pads and be up and running again. A real cost saver because the pads can be rinsed and used again. You should get an extra set, it makes it easy for when you change the pads.

Laguna Max-Flo 1500 Electronic Waterfall & Filter Pump Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this pump to replace an identical one that ran 24/7 for 4 years before the ceramic drive shaft broke. The drive shaft in this pump has a much larger diameter than some of the other pumps I use, but since ceramic is very brittle they will snap if they encounter too much torque (must have gotten clogged - my bad). All high end pumps seem to use ceramic for the drive shafts, so it is probably the best choice of material and I can't fault the pump for that. The pump cage truly makes this pump a joy to maintain. It can be covered in leaves or seaweed and still keep the waterfall running, but don't let it get that way. Cleaning can be done quickly by disconnecting the quick-disconnect fitting for the output hose and lifting the pump cage out of the pond. If you do this often enough to keep the cage relatively clear (depends on amount of debris that your pond generates), the pump should last a long time. Since I got the same pump as I previously had, all I had to do was disconnect the quick-disconnect on the old pump and plug the new one in. Even after 4 years they hadn't messed with perfection ;^) . The price on Amazon marketplace was the best I could find and they shipped it to me without delay. I would recommend both this pump and Amazon. I currently have a 535GPH pump powering the spillway, but wanted more movement in the water. When I saw this item...1083GPH pump...I figured that would work just fine and dandy. The pump arrived quickly, but to my dismay, the flow was less than half of my existing 535GPH pump. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed. I emailed the company, asking about their return policy. After a couple of days, I received a response stating I would receive a full credit, minus shipping of course, upon return of the product. I immediately went down to UPS, packed it up, and shipped it off. Approximately a week and a half later, I saw the credit on my card statement.
So, even though the product did not perform as advertised, the company stood behind their product. In the end, that's all that matters to me.

(More customer reviews)We are using this in a roughly 250 gallon backyard pond that had not been serviced in any way in over a year prior to this spring. The pump and filter are doing their job but we seem to need to clean it far more than I would like. We've been having some algae problems and it seems to get clogged or at least need cleaning 1-2x/week because so much goes gets stuck in the filter. Since we have a small pond pulling it out and doing that is easy, but that would get annoying quickly in a much bigger pond (though this is not designed for bigger ponds).
I don't know the exact amount of power used by this item but I've barely seen a bump at all in my electricity bill, and that bump is more likely from the other new items I have plugged in 24/7, so on that end it is doing well.
The fountain itself is great and has a variable adjustment for height, and it's very relaxing to have operating. Since we bought it my wife has spend a great deal of time just relaxing watching the fountain and fish in the pond. She was a bit skeptical when I ordered it but pretty much as soon as we plugged it in she's been a big fan, which is not the case for many of my purchases.
