A wonderfull filter that is so easy to maintain. Really keeps the water clear. Has a nice space in the bottom of the filter to put the bio balls for that added biological filter. So easy to remove, replace the pads and be up and running again. A real cost saver because the pads can be rinsed and used again. You should get an extra set, it makes it easy for when you change the pads.

Much better design than the previous model I had! The input and output are molded into the filter rather than just attached as the previous design had been.

TotalPond MF13015 Mechanical & Biological Filter For Up To 500 Gallon Ponds With Pump Review

TotalPond MF13015 Mechanical and Biological Filter For Up To 500 Gallon Ponds With Pump
Average Reviews:

We are using this in a roughly 250 gallon backyard pond that had not been serviced in any way in over a year prior to this spring. The pump and filter are doing their job but we seem to need to clean it far more than I would like. We've been having some algae problems and it seems to get clogged or at least need cleaning 1-2x/week because so much goes gets stuck in the filter. Since we have a small pond pulling it out and doing that is easy, but that would get annoying quickly in a much bigger pond (though this is not designed for bigger ponds).
I don't know the exact amount of power used by this item but I've barely seen a bump at all in my electricity bill, and that bump is more likely from the other new items I have plugged in 24/7, so on that end it is doing well.
The fountain itself is great and has a variable adjustment for height, and it's very relaxing to have operating. Since we bought it my wife has spend a great deal of time just relaxing watching the fountain and fish in the pond. She was a bit skeptical when I ordered it but pretty much as soon as we plugged it in she's been a big fan, which is not the case for many of my purchases.

Tried everything to keep this filter from floating. Finally pulled it after 3 weeks of no success. Is there a perfect filter out there?

Web-site said it would lift water to a height of 3 ft. My fountain is only 2'6" and it could not lift to the top. Thanks to Amazona's great return policy I was able to return it and order another brand (for less money) that works perfectly.

Beckett 7061310 350gph Submersible Pump with 16' Cord Review

Beckett 7061310 350gph Submersible Pump with 16' Cord
Average Reviews:

I purchased to replace my 14 year old 350gph Beckett pump so the brand does last. Two design changes on new pump are not ideal: 1) pump no longer has discharge butterfly flow valve, only an intake partial control slide. It makes it impossible to reduce the flow to meet my fountain's needs - should have bought a smaller pump and 2) suction intake is now out to the side and .5-1.5 inches off bottom of pump versus old style suction that was right in the bottom of the pump - leaves get into suction easier and if water level drops a little the pump starts sucking air.

Beckett 7091510 130gph Fountain Pump Review

Beckett 7091510 130gph Fountain Pump
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Beckett seems to build a much better fountain pump than the others that I've tried. We have an outdoor fountain that can be hard on pumps (the wide temperature changes in Texas and the debris accumulation). The previous Beckett pump lasted far longer (I'd guess at least 5 years) than any of the other brands that we've tried.
I ordered another brand, and it wouldn't work after I installed it, so I had to return it. Thankfully, Amazon has a "no hassle" return process, but I wish I hadn't disassembled the fountain, run the wiring, reassembled, leveled, and refilled with water -- only to discover it wouldn't work. Then I had to disassemble again. Cement fountain pieces are heavy and bulky, in case you wondered. I bought another similar pump (different brand) from Home Depot and tested it in a bucket of water first, and had to return that one since it would only hum and not pump.
Finally, I've got a pump that works and have learned to stick with Beckett. I've also learned to pre-test the pumps before installing. The only problem I've found with this pump is that Amazon advertises a 15 foot power cord (the same length as my previous Beckett cord), but only a 6 foot cord was provided. I'll have to attach and weatherproof an extension to reach the power outlet. If this pump lasts as long as the previous Beckett, we'll be very satisfied.
