(More customer reviews)I bought this fountain a couple of years ago. Within the first few months all of the clips holding the lights had broken. By the end of the first season the lights had corroded and no longer worked. The fountain still looks O.K., thanks to my patching the side when it got damaged from being blown over from the wind, repainting it each summer and storing it indoors seven months of the year. The lghts added a lot for me and I am disappointed that they lasted such a short time. I wrote to the manufacturer several times to see about buying a replacement light string but they never responded. So, it looks great from a distance in the daytime, but is not what I thought I was buying. I will grudgingly look for a replacement fountain.

Solar Powered Three Frog Bird Bath Fountain Review

(More customer reviews)This birdbath/solar fountain was very easy to put together and looks really beautiful - the stones that came with it which sit inside are a nice touch. The pump started chugging shortly after I placed it outside, even on this overcast afternoon with no sun in sight, and the stream is an even, pleasant flow that is perfect for attracting birds and not scaring them away. The pump regulates itself automatically, flowing and stopping, as sunlight is available. The fountain is made of resin but looks like real bronze. The only reason I give it 4 our of 5 stars is due to the price - for resin (instead of actual bronze) it should have been $100 absolute max, not $150 I paid for it. But from all the fountains I saw, I liked this the best and the ones akin to this one were all similarly expensive. I will post an update if the pump gives out too soon or any other problems surface - but so far so good, and it really does look gorgeous.

We decided to buy it mostly because we grew tired of filling up our old small dog bowl 3-5 times a day. We have a rather large dog, so he tends to drink a lot of water.
Not only did this help with us having to fill it up every day, but it also keeps his water extremely fresh. Due to the water constantly moving, and because of the filter built in.
The pump for it isn't anything mind blowing, it seems like a rather cheap pump that is used for the bottom of a fish tank. We haven't had any problems with the pump yet at all.
The only problem my girlfriend has complained about is the fact that it is indeed so large. And she takes the whole bowl out like it says to, and fills it up with water when it's empty. Making it rather heavy when taking it back to place it on the base.
I've learned that you can take a pitcher of water and simply pour it on the blue bowl on the outside, and it will get pulled back into the bowl. Since overflow water already flows over the top and down the side of the blue bowl already, I see no issue with this. It's meant to flow over it like that so smaller dogs can actually drink from there. Our dog doesn't bother with it, he goes for the source. The only problem with this is that you can only pour so much in there at once this way, since it takes a moment for it to get sucked back into the bowl by the pump. But still beats carrying the heavy thing over to the sink and back.
At first we wasn't sure our dog was going to like it. He seemed really weirded out by it at first, and wouldn't really drink out of it. It took him a while to figure out that it was his new dog bowl, and now he loves it and has managed to pretty much empty the entire thing in as little as 3 days (he is a really big dog...) With the bowl sitting much higher up off the ground, it seems that it is easier on him to get something to drink. Which is also another huge plus.
I would recommend this to any pet owner, it's a great product so far. Allows you to not have to worry about watering your pet or keeping the water fresh for days. So you could even go on a weekend trip and not have to worry about your dog at home not having enough fresh water.

Nostalgia CFF-965 Mini Chocolate Fondue Fountain with 2-Tier Tower Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a version of this fountain last year at the after xmas sales for $16. I finally used it twice this month at a couple of parties. It was a tremendous hit! The second time I ran it for about an hour, and then I noticed that it smelled like the motor was beginning to overheat, so I turned it off. So maybe like the other reviewers have complained, it is not going to last very long. But, this fountain is great fun for chocoholics.
Here's how it works: Assemble, level, and preheat the fountain. Get two 12-oz bags of chocolate chips, add 1/4 cup canola oil and microwave it (with occasional stirring) about 3 minutes, until almost hot, in a 4-cup glass measuring cup. A spout is essential to pour it into the fountain. Turn on motor. Voila, joy from your eager audience!
Here are the tips: semi-sweet chocolate was a little too sweet the first time. About half was leftover, so I poured it back into the glass measuring cup and it hardened overnight. Reused it a week later and added a bag of dark chocolate chips. Don't use toothpicks to skewer nibbles, because the chocolate is too heavy and knocks the nibble off the toothpick. Cut the nibbles large enough that people can pick up and dip.
Cleanup is not simple but not too bad. To reduce cleanup, it's a good idea to put a plastic tablecloth around the base (and covering the cord), because chocolate splatters and people drip. The tier disassembles easily and can be soaked and then put in the dishwasher. The base gets pretty messy, I have to use a lot of paper towels to get all the chocolate off of it.
I looked at getting a better one that would last longer, but this mini size is really ideal because you don't need so much chocolate. Frankly, I had 50 people for the 2nd party, and there was ~2 cups of chocolate left over. I poured it into paper cups (to harden and toss) so I could clean the fountain, and people still kept dipping nibbles into the liquid.
Oh, and warn fans not to double dip!

Sunterra 202000 Pond Pump 2000 GPH, Black Review

(More customer reviews)I have purchased four of these pumps over the past 5 years. Luckily they have two year warranties with them, because you will need it. The first two ran for about 4 months, then would randomly turn off and on until they quit altogether. I was promptly sent two replacements, which lasted the rest of the summer, then quit for no reason in early December. Sunterra sent me two more, and they lasted until about July of the next summer, then they broke. The impellers will just disintegrate after a while. I inquired about replacements, and they told me my warranty was expired. So I bought two more, hoping to not have the same issues. These were the same model number, but a different, newer style. Guess what? They worked for a short time, then the impellers broke on them too. Keep in mind, my pond is crystal clear and has no debris to impede the flow of water. These just break for no reason. I wrote Sunterra an email, and they sent me two replacements. I just opened them and they were both broken before I even got a chance to use them. I have since contacted them for replacements for my replacements, but after this warranty is over, I will never buy another Sunterra pump again.

Beckett 7115010 Waterfall Pump 5000gph Review

(More customer reviews)I have a moderate sized pond, perhaps 4000 gallons. I created a waterfall for it that requires the pump lift the water about 7 feet.
This pump has worked extremely well in this installation. We live in Colorado, so the pond does have moderately extreme weather from summer through winter. The pump runs year round, of course.
I just had to replace the pump a couple days ago... I had a back-up already purchased, and since the two pumps are the same model, it was easy to replace the pump... just unscrew it from the hose fitting and attach the new pump back onto the hose (no tools, but for the waders to get to the pump). The pump lasted seven year. I think that is a very good length of time.
I told my next door neighbor about the pump and he installed one in his pond, probably a 5000 gallon pond, and his lift is about 8 feet. His pump works great and it is still functioning three years later.
The reason I thought to writing this review is that I am back on Amazon.com buying my next backup pump (the same model, of course), a pump that I don't expect to need to use for many years... but it is there when I need it (everyone with a pond and fish needs to have a backup pump and secondary aeration system in case of failure of the primary, in this case a waterfall, oxygenation system).
The cost and reliability make this pump a great purchase.

(More customer reviews)I order this item because I fell in love with it when I seen. It was just what I was looking for to put into my flower bed in front of my house. I couldn't wait to get it. Once I received it the nightmare began. The first day it ran great the second the problems began. I have it hooked to a timer so it comes on in the morning and shuts off in the evening well when it comes on in the morning its running good within a couple of hours the barrel is empty and I have to refill it. Once refilled its good to go for another couple hours. Finally my boyfriend figured it out the spout was leaking around the seal. So he tightened it down and still it wasn't holding water, here on the top of the spout where the handle is there is a small hole which the water comes up out of it and the water runs down the back of the spout and causes the water to drain, so again my boyfriend had to fix it. So far he has fixed the barrel 3 different times. The money I spent on this item was just not worth it. I did try to contact the seller explaining my situation and there was no response. I do not recommend this item at all. The money you think you are saving by buying this item you are further ahead to go to lowes.
Sincerely, unhappy customer.

(More customer reviews)We put this in our dog's water and it helps immensely. Makes a really big difference, but you HAVE to use it every single day. It totally prevents plaque buildup on his teeth. After a teeth cleaning it used to take only about a month before his teeth began looking dirty (and he does NOT do well to having his teeth brushed), but since we've been using the Aquadent, his teeth look clean and it's been 10 months since his last teeth cleaning. I tasted the stuff just to see what he's drinking, and it's completely tasteless and odorless. Just follow the directions carefully so you don't overdose your dog on the chemicals. By the way, we originally began using the Aquadent when my dog's teeth were already dirty. The Aquadent prevented more plaque buildup, but it did not really make his teeth cleaner. Then, when we had his teeth cleaned, and we continued using the Aquadent, it has totally prevented his teeth from building up plaque. Best to start with a clean slate. Apparently, cats seem to have excellent results getting their teeth clean just by using the Aquadent, as I've heard from several people, but it has worked best for my dog when his teeth were freshly cleaned by the veterinarian. Excellent product to use! UPDATE: When the ASPCA issued the press release on the dangers of Xylitol I made 2 phone calls. First, I called C.E.T. (the makers of Aquadent), who informed me that they had NO plans to change the formulation of the product to eliminate the xylitol. Hmmm. Then I called the ASPCA and spoke to one of their head veterinarians who was very nice and completely thorough. He said that based on the dosage on the bottle, it was safe for dogs. Of course, I'm sure that every dog is different and some are probably more susceptible to xylitol poisoning than others, but he did say that if the directions on the bottle are followed, then the stuff is ok. I'm not too pleased with the blue color. I don't know why it can't be clear. I'm planning to try Triple Pet plaque off, as it does not have any dyes, colors, or sweeteners (xylitol). Hopefully it will continue to help prevent plaque and tartar buildup.

It also arrived in it's original box, so the gift checkbox is a waste of time.
One month later, revise this review to say the finish is coming off the birdbath now, so the whole thing is junk.
