When they say 14 inches, they must be talking about all the extensions that come in the kit, because the water is not going that high! it barely trickles out in full sun. Take into account a passing cloud and this thing shuts down completely. I was going to return it but they wouldn't take it back because i did not keep the baggie that the fittings came in or the plastic sheet they had over the solar panel. I think one star is too high of a rating.
