What I received was a little 12" tall table top fountain.
Other sellers have the item, description, and photo for over $250USD.
I paid only $50 USD.
I should had known the ad was incorrect.
It it is too good to be true...then it is probably not true.
Beware, not all of Amazon's item descriptions and photos are correct.

(More customer reviews)Bought this item a few weeks ago. It has been in my in-ground pool for little more than a total of 4 days. I never immersed the head unit in water. The LED lights are out. Plus the noise. I could understand the noise thinking that the "motor" was generating electricity for the LEDs. Now..it is just annoying.
Assembly was pretty easy. Just time to trash this and find a non-LED unit.
First time I have written a review (bought dozens of products from Amazon)..you gotta know I dislike this thing. Money well wasted.

(More customer reviews)I made the mistake of not reading carefully enough. Since it was advertised by a company that had "solar" in its name I didn't realize they meant it had to be plugged in. The "resevoire" that the pump sits in is accessed by removing the top or sliding it over in order to pour in water. It is very awkward and easy to put a kink in the pump hose when replacing the top. You have to be careful because it goes dry much faster than you might expect and if it does run out of water the pump will burn out. I realize we live in a very dry area so the lack of humidity plays a part of how fast the water eveaporates.
We have decided to cut our loses and plug the drainage hole and use it as a birdbath without the fountain.

Nostalgia Electrics CFF-986 3-Tier Chocolate Fondue Fountain, Stainless Steel Review

(More customer reviews)Okay, I guess this must be the "better" version of the Nostalgia line (mine is a CFF-980). I received mine as a gift for Christmas and wondered what everyone else thought about theirs. There were so many bad reviews (on other versions) that I began to get worried mine was a piece of junk too. I wanted to use it for a party next week and so I decided to pull it out and see how bad it really was.
I tried to use water so I didn't have to make a mess(a suggestion from another comment) and it didn't work. Nothing was coming out! I finally broke down and used the chocolate/oil mix. When I first turned it on, the auger clanked really loudly against the tower. I turned it off and checked to see if it was level and it was clearly un-level. After I leveled it properly, the chocolate flowed beautifully.
The clean-up was simple. I heard so many complaints that this thing is very hard to clean. I didn't find that to be true. I took the tower and auger off and soaked it in soapy water while i discarded the chocolate. I took a sponge and cleaned the tower and auger. I used the water sprayer on my sink to get inside the tower. I used a baking spatula to wipe most of the chocolate from the bowl. Then wiped it once with a paper towel and finished by using a soapy sponge. Cleaning the parts took less than 10 minutes (not including drying).
The only thing I suggest is to put a mat or towel under the fountain because dipping into it causes drops of chocolate to land on the table. Also, be sure to follow the instructions! The most important part of the entire thing is leveling it correctly. It took me about 10 minutes to level it properly.
The sound is not bad at all. It is much quieter than I was led to believe. It is quieter than any kitchen appliance I own. I don't even have anything to compare it to. It sounds like a fan blowing...that is the closest thing I can come too. I LOVE IT!

What appealed to me was the fact that it's ceramic, cutting down on bacteria. Our last one was plastic and started to get etched by bacteria and stuff. When it died, I needed to find a replacement and wanted to try a ceramic one. This one had NO reviews so I was taking a chance, but after researching and reading all the reviews on the others, I still found I wanted to try this one. OK, it's been here for just a few days, but our cat immediately took to it - no problems. He licks from the large bowl and also from the bubbling water at the top. He's always loved running water. I don't mind not having a reservoir because the bowl holds so much water already!It flows well,is quiet and doesn't splash. I'll have to see how well it does long term, but so far so good!

We use distilled water only (out here in the desert, the water is not too healthy plus the filter in the pump will last longer) at less than a dollar per gal; we are only using a gal per week. The cat has plenty of cool clear water available at all times and as a bonus, the water stays fairly cold in the stainless steel version. Overall a well built product with a handy assortment of different collars to change up the water flow pattern!

Sunterra 200450 Pond Pump 450 GPH, Black Review

(More customer reviews)This pump works pretty well overall. I am using it in a rock fountain with about a 3 foot climb and it moves water very well. I could actually run another feature off it if wanted.
Another positive is the long powercord.
The negative so far... the packing material was a mess as little specks of styrofoam were everywhere..including inside the unit. It actually took some time to clean up the pump from the packing materials. I understand the need for packing well for shipping, but put the pump itself inside a plastic bag or something. Spending about a half hour to an hour picking out stryo specks from the filter and pump unit isn't fun.

(More customer reviews)After receiving this product ("Aloha" brand?) I turned around and ordered the Dolphin brand pump, paying 3 times more (counting shipping). I'm happy with the Dolphin pump. The one here is clearly a knock-off from a company in China using sub-grade materials. It is very flimsy and weak, one of the sections of the lower skirt fell off and it hasn't been mounted on a bottle yet. Out of the box the silicone seal was dirty and the plastic parts were scratched as though it had been used already. The Dolphin tubes are made of durable material (I think nylon) I recognize from my camping gear. This one is I think polypropylene. Don't waste your money, buy the name-brand pump made in Korea.

Sparkling 3-Tier Swimming Pool Fountain Review

(More customer reviews)The fountain is an attractive addition to the pool but we purchased it to lower the temperature of the pool water and it does! Living in Oklahoma, our pool water had reached 94 degrees by June! Not only was the pool no longer refreshing but it was becoming very costly trying to combat algae. The fountain dropped the pool temp to 88 in just a few hours and drops it to 84 if we leave it on overnight (this is during the 100 degrees weather!)
Our only complaint is that it seemed to have a leak where water was getting in to the fountain base causing it to spin. We drilled a small hole, emptied the water and corked it. It is working perfectly again.

(More customer reviews)My cats and dog love this. It doesn't filter the water, but it keeps it moving which is all my cats care for. I've bought 3 different water "fountains" for my feline companions and they always managed to take it apart and rip off the filter (even after using copious amounts of tape to hold it all together). They figured how to dismantle this one, but it won't spill because of the special cap and there's no filter to destroy. When I brought home my dog, she also loved it. It keeps the water fresh and bubbling. If you're looking for something that will clean the water for you, then this is not the product for you. I believe it's a bit overpriced- I bought mine in Marshalls for about $7.00.

First mistake: don't purchase (from Amazon) too far in advance. They rescind your ability to return items after 30 days.
Back to the item: it leaks, rather badly. It's neither well-designed nor well-made. However, it IS expensive, which leads to the my second mistake: allowing price to be an indicator of quality.
This is junk. Do yourself a favor and avoid it.

(More customer reviews)My five cats love this fountain! No more trips to the sink to turn on the tap for my feline friends. It's much quieter than the Drinkwells I used to have. I bought two Catit fountains several months ago and I'm very impressed. They really do hold a lot of water. I only have to refill them once a week. Maintainence is a snap! Everything comes apart easily for a once-a-month cleaning (including the pump!)keeping them running smoothly and prevents mold and mineral deposits. The filters are easy to change and inexpensive.
The water flows quietly and smoothly over the dome, provided the fountain is on a level surface. At initial start-up and after refilling it may be necessary to "massage" the dome to break any "static cling" that would prevent smooth-flowing water. The one on the ceramic tile floor is a bit off-level so it doesn't flow as smoothly or as soundlessly as the one on the hardwood floor. But it's a LOT quieter than the Drinkwell fountains. A cushioned placemat underneath the fountains helps catch any kitty-spills and makes the fountains virtually sound-free! I like the bubble design and it doesn't take up much room. I'm very happy with this product.
