(More customer reviews)the waterfall itself is nice, but the pump is terrible. worked for maybe a day then didn't work anymore. keeping the pump where you want it to be is also extremely aggravating. the suction cups that are mounted on the bottom of the pump itself don't seem quite big enough to keep it stabilized in a proper position. I'm not bashing exo terra in any way, i think their products are great, but i haven't had much luck with anything water related and exo terra. look around the web for reviews before you buy this. there's a lot of complaints!

(More customer reviews)If your pond is filled with koi the most important component after water and a liner is the pump. Without a doubt, your pond will need a pump to provide a steady and reliable source of oxygen to your fish, and Pondmaster pumps just don't measure up. Within a year and a half this pump broke down on me, then after getting it repaired it broke down a year and a month later.Pondmaster doesn't even stand behind their products. While they repaired it for free, I had to pay a lot of money to ship this unit to them to fix a problem caused by their poor manufacturing quality controls. Many companies are decent enough to provide a "rapid repair" process where they immediately ship out a new unit and then let you send the defective one back in a postage-paid box. (As protection those companies take your credit card information and then charge you for the cost of the pump if it's not returned within 30 days or so, that's completely understandable) NOT DANNER! Oh no, not Danner! I had to send it in, and then wait for its return. The process too weeks.When dying this time the pumps start working in spurts and starts. When this happened last weekend I opened it, cleaned it (it wasn't even clogged) and then put it back in only to find it stopped a few days later. A couple hours after that it was working again. At least this time I had some warning it was dying and got my backup sump pump ready.The only appropriate use for one of these pumps belongs (besides filling space in a landfill) is a pond where water movement is for superficial purposes only. If you have a pond devoted to plants and have a water feature like a fountain or waterfall then the unreliability of these pumps will only be a nuisance and not a major setback. It could also make for a nice backup pump if your real pump has problems.

You can find a 18 watt light for about half the price if you look hard enough but it will only last a season.

(More customer reviews)Just remember the old adage: you get what you pay for! This fountain was so badly designed that the hose pushed up in the base where I couldn't get to it right out of the box! I had to become a plumber and purchase new piping and a new pump (the one that came with it is only supposed to last THREE MONTHS)to get the thing to work. Even then, the water trickling from the fountain was so weak, it would have been more effective to squeeze a sponge over the top and down the fountain!
Save your money. It would be better to just put your head under the water in your bath tub and blow water through a straw!

I was hoping to leave it in use year round and only unplug the heater during the warmer months. Now it makes a good sprinkler hose. For the price I was expecting it to last at least 3-4 winters.

If you were to drop one on the floor, your first concerns would be about your tile and getting your feet out of the way, rather than worrying about the glass. As for the dishwasher, these ones are ok, but the larger ones can be a problem with older machines.
Pricing: These, and other genuine Libbey glasses, are almost always available at dollar stores. We have purchased several in this style with different sizes; most are the 22oz size. Regardless, they are there, and they are inexpensive. Be sure to look for the cursive "L" on the bottom or "Libbey". They sometimes have similar glasses that scratch easily, are far less clear, and generally do not hold up as well.
Our glasses still look exceptional after many years of use. We also get people asking where we got them and commenting on how "industrial" they are. If your local dollar store does not have these, they are still well worth the price, especially with free shipping.

Danner 02680 HY Drive 3200GPH Pump Review

(More customer reviews)The sealed mag-drive construction of this pump is the only way to go. After having one Little Giant leak oil into one pond and another Little Giant leak water into the motor housing and electrify the water, I'll never use anything but mag-drive.
I've had a number of ponds over the past 20 years, and currently have four, so I've had quite a few pumps. Although I've used the Pondmaster pumps for years, The Hy-Drive units, in particular, seem to be rock-solid, commercial grade pumps. I've never had problems with the Pondmaster / Danner pumps, until recently. When one of my Hy-Drive 3200's developed a thermal-cycling issue, I found Danner / Pondmaster easy to reach, pleasant to work with, responsive, and I received a replacement just a few days after returning the old one - important when your fish's health is at stake. While they may cost a few dollars more than a cheap, no-name overseas brand, they are well worth the money. I'll never use anything else!

(More customer reviews)Purchased 2 for backyard wedding reception. Worked fairly well, one had some trouble adjusting the spray so as to not spray out of the fountain. After the reception I planned to use them in the yard landscape. Living in a rainy area I didn't drain them and the first freeze broke both of them. I understand why it happened and was happy with the original use. It is not however for yards unless you live in a frost free zone.

Hydor Pico Evolution 1200 All- Purpose Pump for Aquariums and Terrariums Review

(More customer reviews)Replaced the stock pump in my biocube 29gal with this. It seems to be functioning fine though for a BC29 it may not be the best pump to use. It has a larger outlet which of course requires larger tubing which is more prone to developing a a kink when bent. I'll have to locate some better tubing. Also, the flow rate adjuster on the pump broke within 5 minutes of me handling it. On the plus side it does have a fairly high flow rate with low power consumption compared to most pumps out there. It does have a low head rating so I simply moved mine up in the BC return chamber.

TotalPond DD11210 210 GPH Pond Pump Review

(More customer reviews)This pump is equipped with a soft plastic impeller that showed significant wear after only a few hours. The flow rate is advertised as 210 gallons per hour. After 1 hour I measured the flow rate, and it was 65 gallons per hour with the tube outlet less than 1 foot higher than the pump. After several hours the flow continued to decrease until it was down to a trickle. The pump made a noticeable clacking sound while operating, which was probably the sound of the impeller wearing down.

Birds Choice Solar Powered Layered Waterfall Rock Review

(More customer reviews)This will do the trick, but not without adjustments. Takes a greater depth of water than the photographs imply. Ad photos make it look like you can place it in an inch of water and it will work, but this is not the case. It's going to take 2.5 to 3 inches to work. It came with very poor instruction sheet, no connections to go from pump to rock, requiring you to fit the pump directly to the interior of the rock, resulting in the feet of the pump being another quarter to half inch off the floor of the birdbath which inturn requirs a deeper water level, not to mention the pump being suspended from it's outlet, rather than settled on it's feet. The vibrations of the pump, although slight, would probably over time cause undue wear on that plastic connection which is not meant to support the pump. Once a deep enough water level for operation is achieved, there is only about half the layered rock formation above water, completely doing away with any babbling water sounds and most of the water movement. The connections which DID come with the pump were not mentioned in the instruction sheet at ALL, and seem to be three water spouts meant to replace the rock formation, each spout creating a different water spray pattern. However, these do not fit onto the outlet of the pump and to use them would require a trip to Lowe's to find fittings to make the connections. A birdbath deep enough to accomodate this device will be so deep that none of the normal backyard birds one would hope to attract with this thing would get into it. A finch-sized bird attempting a bath in this tub would run a better than average risk of drowning. The only place they could approach the stream of water would be by standing right on top of the little rock pile. Since the water does not exit from the top, but rather down a couple of 'layers' of rock, access to the moving water is very restricted for the birds. For the price of this little ditty, I am VERY disappointed. I was duped into thinking I could bring it home, pop it into my birdbath and be done. Instead I am faced with a minor to medium sized Do-It-Yourself project which will cost some extra dollars/time/aggravation to complete.

Cal Pump P140 140gph (max 170) Magnetic Drive Pump Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this pump, hooked it up, and it worked for less than 24 hours. I assumed that it must have gotten clogged, so I examined it and couldn't find any debris. I could get it to pump for a brief period of time by unplugging it, shaking it around a bit, and then reconnecting but who wants to do that 10 times a day? I contacted them and found that they'd replace it but only if I shell out more money to ship their defective device back to them. No thank you.
Another problem with the device is that the power cord is only 6' long. That's probably fine if you're going to use it in an aquarium, but for an outdoor water feature it's unacceptable. I don't like using extension cords outdoors on a long-term basis.
A couple years ago I bought a UV light that was dead out of the box and recently discovered that it was also a Cal Pump product. I've owned two Cal Pump products and neither have worked. Quality control seems to be a serious problem with this company so I will avoid them in the future.
