(More customer reviews)Pondmaster PMK190 190gph Pump and Filter with Bonus Fountain Head is exactly what I needed to clear that funky split-pea soup (algae-ridden) water in my Shubunkin, Comet and Koi ponds! Simple to use..., Has a very sturdy handle (convenient for lifting the unit out of the pond for cleaning). Takes about 2 minutes to hose off the 3 (very thick) filters and put the unit back in pond. The 190 gallons per hour "pump-suck" is quite powerful and quiet. My ponds were crystal clear in two days. I don't use the optional fountain head because I have spitters and waterfalls, already -- not using it creates a very nice rippling agitation effect on the surface of the pond. Your neighbors will be in total awe. :) My fish are quite happy now that they can actually see me coming to feed them -- and see their food pellets floating on the top of the water. Indoor Fountains- Gardenfall (Glass/Black)-large Review

(More customer reviews)Worked in event marketing and used this fountain at our mobile events throughout the U.S. for a year and a half. We had two of them and we did not run into a single problem. Mind you, we shipped them to over 35 events via freight truck shipping and it wasn't broken, and turned right on every time.
In fact, our events were mostly home and garden focused and we got a constant stream of individuals asking our event managers about where we got them. The only issue is that they do smudge...but I guess that comes with the territory with glass. They also are a bit top heavy so you need to make sure you secure this if you have small children around.
The events were cancelled for the 2nd half of the second year, and we sent them to the client; however, I was really hoping to be able to buy one as much of the items from the events were liquidated. I hardly have the money to spend on this new, but with the quality and durability I would highly suggest that if you do have the money you look into these if you want a beautiful fountain for an entryway, or garden.

She loves it and it also makes her boss wanna use the restroom!! BONUS!! I would recommend this for every office worker. Only suggestion is to buy a timer as well for those times that you might forget to turn it off at night and run the risk of burning the pump motor.

Laguna PT336 Powerjet 2400 Electronic Fountain Pump Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I just purchased the PowerJet 2400 and the pump cage was improperly assembled at the factory. The top was forced during assembly and broke a hole in the top of the cage. I spoke with a Laguna (Hagen) representative who expected me to ship the unit to them and they would decide the course of action. This is completely unacceptable as I need a pump now. Their attitude of "the customer is wrong until proven right" is not one I care to do business with. I expect to receive a non-defective product whenever I buy something and sure do not expect to pay freight to return their defective product to them.
10/18/2010 I patched up the broken portion and have been using this pump continuously for almost 2 years and it has functioned perfectly. The small holes in the cage do plug up with algae growing on the screen and in some particularly heavy growth periods it has to be cleaned frequently. I have compared several pumps and this is the lowest wattage pump for the flow rate I have found. Actual measurements even taking consideration of the power factor it draws only 83 Watts. I am completely satisfied with the pump and am considering another only this time the Max Flo pump for the larger holes in the cage.

(More customer reviews)This is a great-looking modern wall fountain but the functional design is lacking. I found it very difficult to install and the pump is loud.
To check the water level or adjust the pump's intake opening (to adjust the water flow), you have to remove the front cover and reach inside. Doing so disconnects the (too short) hose at the top or bottom. To reconnect everything, you have to remove the fountain from the wall (water went all over the floor); remove the front cover; make adjustments inside (either add water to the fill line or reach in to adjust the pump); replace the front cover; and then reach around through the round opening at the back side to try to reconnect the hose at the top.; then re-hang it on the wall while trying not to spill water on the floor again.
I wish it were otherwise, but I can't recommend this handsome fountain.

Sunterra 300106 Pond Bio-Filter 1000 Gallons, Black Review

(More customer reviews)I got a Sunterra pond filter as part of a complete pond kit. At first, I was quite happy with the filtration provided, but quickly learned that there are other issues with this filter design that make it worthless.
1) The clamps are designed to fail. There is no other way to look at it. They are attached to the filter bucket, and snap over the lid. Around the circumference of the lid is a thin O-ring gasket. This gasket is nearly impossible to keep in place as you are putting the lid over the bucket. Further, even if you do get it in place and sealed correctly, it is not likely to stay there long. The major problem is that Sunterra used cheap, thin plastics throughout this filter. When I turn the pump on, I can actually see the entire filter bucket stretch, and it rises up out of the hole in the ground about an inch. This stretching of the plastic weakens it. The clamps also stretch, and after less that one season, lost their ability to securely hold the lid in place. The result is that any time power is cut to the pump, some of the clamps will release because they don't have enough force to hold the lid down when the pump is not pushing against them. When the power is restored and the pump pressurizes the filter, it will leak profusely between the lid and bucket.
We have left home for several hours only to return and discover that our power went out for whatever reason, and when it was restored the filter leaked, resulting in a near-total drain of our pond and destruction of our pump as it ran dry. Luckily the pump was high enough off the bottom of the pond that our fish still had some water, and so survived.
2) The restricted filter indicator doesn't work, at all. I've had the filter so clogged up that water was barely coming through the filter at all, and still the red clogged-filter indicator never popped up.
3) The reverse-flow cleaning system doesn't work, at all. In order to clean the filter, you have to disassemble it and wash out the sponges with a garden hose. This is the only way to get them clean. You could run your entire pond's water supply through the filter and it would do nothing to clean it. This is nothing more than a joke.
4) The sliding selector for run or clean is also prone to leaks. The design is simply poor, but might have had a chance of working if Sunterra had not used such thin and cheap plastics.
In the end, there is no fix for this junk filter. I've contacted Sunterra and they sent me replacement clamps. Those lasted no longer than the originals. Avoid this filter, it is not worth any money or your time and frustration. If this is any indication of the quality of Sunterra products, I would avoid the company altogether. I would have rated this item at zero stars if that were available. Maybe I can make a planter out of the filter bucket- that's about all it would be good for.
As an alternative, look here: Pressurized Bio UV Pond Filter - 2000 gallon This is a quality filter that gets good reviews. You get what you pay for with Fish Mate, unlike Sunterra where you pay and get nothing.
