(More customer reviews)I bought the Petmate UV Light Infinity for my cat after the pump on her old Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow finally died. I was excited about the Infinity, not because of the UV light addition, but because of its new innovative spinning screw-shape type pump. It claims to be "whisper quiet" but in fact, it is much noisier than the fountain-type water pump on the Deluxe Fresh Flow -so I am returning it.
I have a very small house, so when I'm trying to sleep, the gurgling of the Infinity is just too much for me. If noise is a major deal breaker when looking for a kitty water fountain, then I suggest any of Petmate's Fresh Flow products with the old pump style.Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain Medium, White
I also thought the plastic on the Infinity seemed "bendier" and less sturdy than the Deluxe Fresh Flow and I would not feel comfortable putting it in the top rack of the dishwasher -I have washed pieces of the Fresh Flow in the dishwasher for years without any problem. I liked the larger clear water reservoir, and I will miss that, but I was not fond of the gray plastic with silver flecks -if they want it to look like metal then use real stainless steel, people!
One thing they did get right was to put the charcoal filter next to the intake of the pump instead of bypassing the pump and placing it by the "waterfall" portion like in the Fresh Flow.
