(More customer reviews)Positives: The fountain does its job well. The pump isn't loud, and the trickling sound is pleasurable. The price was reasonable for a larger fountain. It is a nice moderate size. I wouldn't really expect this to be a tabletop type at all; it is very heavy, maybe 50 pounds or more.
Negatives: The packaging was severely damaged in transit, but the fountain, luckily, was ok. We were relieved since it was not opened until Christmas eve. However, the vendor needs to think more creatively about the packaging. Second, I don't think the pump is the right pump (the numbers don't match the diagram) and it is difficult to insert into the pan without interfering with the backsplash. In fact, the backsplash now sits on the plastic pump housing. Finally, with this pump in place, the hose kinks in the back, and the shutoff valve leaked at the stem.
Conclusion: My son, who has headaches, likes it in his room, and the size is quite appropriate. But, I'm not sure the quality is there.....had it not been a Christmas present and difficult to repackage, I'd have returned it.
UPDATE!!!!! We just had to return this item because of a large crack draining water out the side. the crack appeared after a few weeks of use. After a week or so, it gradually grew. The large slot that drained the water for the waterfall made in the factory was uneven, for it had a large slope down one side. it drained the water unevenly and we weren't very pleased. Our recommendation... dont buy it.
