Most fountains (especially the cheap table-top kind) run for a couple of months (max) and then the cheaply-made motor stops working. I have thrown away more fountains than I care to mention including some floor fountains that had cost me over $300 a pop (and I threw about 3 of them out so far).
I was looking for a durable fountain for my living room and saw the other review. I decided to give it a shot. I've had it since July (7 months) and it's going strong. I cleaned it out only once (even though it probably could have used two cleanings by now).
I just ordered another one for my office because this fountain is durable, peaceful, and classy. I wish all table-top and floor fountains were this durable and nice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! If you are looking for a floor fountain, please seriously consider getting this one over another floor model, especially those with the rivets where the water runs down them. I've had several of those (and paid over $300 each, as I mentioned before) and was lucky to have one out of the bunch last me 6 months. The rest died about 2 - 4 months after running.
If you want a serious kick a** fountain then this is your model!
